Redskins Practice Update: Shanahan, RG3
ASHBURN, VA (CBSDC)–The Redskins held their first practice today as they prepare to host the undefeated Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and have already ruled out one player for the game.
Brandon Meriweather (knee) will not play after re-injuring it when colliding with Aldrick Robinson in pre-game warm-ups before the Tampa Bay game. Meriweather will get re-evaluated next week.
Cedric Griffin (hamstring) also missed practice. Brandon Banks (hip), Aldrick Robinson (concussion) & Evan Royster (knee) were all limited in practice. Robinson will get tested tomorrow and if he’s cleared he can practice tomorrow.
Trent Williams fully practiced and Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan had high praise for him after last week’s game.
“I thought it was his best game of the season,” Shanahan said on Williams game last Sunday.
Shanahan also praised him being a captain and playing through pain.
Pierre Garçon also fully practiced and Shanahan talked about his progression.
“He’ll get back in football shape by practicing every day this week,” Shanahan said.
