WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - A popular line of white cheddar popcorn carried at local Giant Food stores has been recalled due to possible contamination.

Dale and Thomas Popcorn is recalling a limited number of ready-to-eat bags of select flavors of their Popcorn, Indiana brand products after discovering a possible Listeria Monocytogenes contamination.

All sell-by dates of the following product are considered potentially harmful and should be thrown away if purchased:

• Dale & Thomas Indiana white cheddar popcorn, UPC 84357100078, 9 oz.

No illnesses have been reported but customers who have purchased the product should bring their receipt of purchase to their local Giant for a full refund.

Consumers can call the Dale and Thomas hotline at (866) 940-7936 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST or contact Giant Customer Service at (888) 469-4426.

Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea, as well as contribute to miscarriages and stillbirths, and can sometimes cause fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems.
