TAMPA (CBSDC) — An accidental pre-game collision will prevent Brandon Meriweather from making his regular season debut with the Washington Redskins.

Meriweather collided with wide receiver Aldrick Robinson in the end zone during pre-game warmups at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Meriweather was slotted to make his regular season debut after being sidelined for the first three games with a knee sprain.

Video showed the safety writhing in pain after the hit, holding his the same troublesome left knee.

The safety was visibly upset as he was helped off the field, 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen reports.

Meanwhile, the training staff appeared to be working on Robinson’s head and neck.

Both players were declared inactive for the game.

The Redskins also declared quarterback Rex Grossman, cornerback Cedric Griffin, running back Ryan Grant, linebacker Markus White and guard Adam Gettis inactive.
