DULLES, Va. (CBSDC) — A woman attempting to board a flight at Dulles Airport was found to have concealed knives in her carry-on luggage.
TSA agents say they detected a switchblade and a boot knife taped inside the lining of the woman’s bag Thursday as it was passing through the checkpoint x-ray machine.
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police confiscated the knives and charged the woman with a misdemeanor of carrying a dangerous article in an airport. The woman has not been identified.
She was still allowed to board her flight to Beijing after the knives were confiscated and the incident did not affect airport operations.
TSA would like to remind future passengers that weapons are not permitted as carry-on and you are responsible for the contents you bring to security checkpoints.
