WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Police have partially blocked Wisconsin Avenue after a bicyclist was struck in the early morning hours.
D.C. police say a bicyclist was struck in the morning hours at Wisconsin Ave. and Western Ave. Friday morning and has been taken to the hospital. The victim is in serious condition.
The 35-year-old bicyclist was conscious and breathing when emergency responders arrived at the scene. Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim did not flee the scene.
The southbound 5300 block of Wisconsin Ave NW is currently blocked off from traffic. Police say drivers should use 44th and 43rd Streets as alternate routes traveling south until the investigation is complete.
