LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The search for a Montgomery County man wanted for killing his girlfriend in Wheaton, Md. over the weekend has ended in Miami.

Martire Puente-Fulcar is in police custody in Florida after an apparent suicide attempt. The man jumped off the roof of the nine-story Versaille Hotel around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Miami Beach Police say.

Puente-Fulcar is hospitalized in critical condition. Maryland authorities plan to extradite him once he’s released from medical care.

Police say Puente-Fulcar killed 37-year-old Rocio Nikaury Morcelo during a domestic incident on Sept. 22.

Morcelo had three children.
