WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Conservative media personalities and activists have had enough of the alleged “biased news media” favoring President Barack Obama this election cycle.

In an open letter from the Media Research Center signed by two-dozen media personalities and activists, including radio personality Rush Limbaugh and Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, conservative leaders have claimed that the mainstream media is “out of control with a deliberate and unmistakable leftist agenda.”

The letter called the political slant in favor of President Obama and against GOP nominee Mitt Romney this election cycle as being unprecedented. The letter was directed at the heads of ABC News, CBS News, NBC News and CNN, according to NewsBusters.

“In the quarter century since the Media Research Center was established to document liberal media bias, there has never been a more brazen and complete attempt by the liberal so-called ‘news’ media to decide the outcome of an election,” Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, wrote in the letter.

During the course of the letter, Bozell and the other conservative leaders detailed the failings on the part of the mainstream media to deliver a fair media depiction throughout the election cycle. Some of the criticisms included, among others, painting conservative ideas as “extreme”; portraying conservatives as “cruel budget slashers”; looking at Romney’s business record instead of President Obama’s record in office; and covering up the government failures and scandals of the Obama White House.

Bozell wrote that the Media Research Center and those who co-signed the letter will urge Americans to seek other forms of other information from outlets other than ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN.

“We the undersigned — representing millions of Americans from our respective organizations — are now publicly urging our members to seek out alternative sources of political news in order to make an intelligent, well-informed decision on November 6,” Bozell wrote.
