VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — A Virginia Beach toddler left sleeping in an SUV took an unexpected trip when the vehicle was towed to Norfolk.
Police tell media outlets that the mother parked the SUV outside the family’s home Wednesday and went inside the residence to get something. The SUV and her 21-month-old son were gone when she returned.
The mother thought the vehicle had been stolen and called police.
But police say a driver with Aristocrat Towing in Norfolk towed the SUV away because it was parked in a fire lane.
The driver couldn’t see the boy inside because the vehicle has dark-tinted windows. The boy wasn’t injured.
