DULLES, Va. (CBSDC) — Special Olympics Virginia will hold their biggest fundraiser of the year this weekend at Dulles Airport.
Teams of 25 people will compete to see who can pull a 164,000-pound Airbus plane 12 feet in the least amount of time at the Dulles Day Festival and Plane Pull.
Gates open Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with festivities beginning at promptly at 11.
Teams need to raise a minimum of $1250 in order to participate in the Plane Pull. Individuals who raise $50 or more are eligible to be on standby to compete in the competition as well.
A truck pull will also be available for children. Kids interested in participating must raise at least $10 for the charity.
All proceeds help Special Olympics Virginia, which provides year-round training and competitions to more than 11,000 athletes.
