LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Police in Prince George’s County are searching for the man they say is responsible for a double shooting that claimed the life of his ex-girlfriend early Sunday morning in Capitol Heights.

Thirty-three-year-old Michael Jerome Stewart shot 25-year-old Brittany Sade McKinley following a confrontation at the strip club where she worked, police say. After security kicked Stewart out of the club he went to the woman’s home and waited for her to return.

When McKinley arrived at her home in the 46000 block of Heath Street, Stewart opened the car door and shot both McKinley and a 23-year-old woman who was also in the car.

The 23-year-old then drove the vehicle to a safe location on Central Avenue and called police. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being struck in the hand by a bullet.

McKinley was pronounced dead on the scene.

A $25,000 reward is being offered in the case. Anyone with information regarding Stewart’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.
