The Washington Redskins fell 31-28 to the St. Louis Rams and are now 1-1 on the season.

Washington had a chance to tie it up late, but a Joshua Morgan was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct when he threw the football at a Rams player, which knocked them out of field goal range and Billy Cundiff’s 62-yard attempt came up wide and short.

“You can’t lose your poise in those situations,” head coach Mike Shanahan said.  “When you lose your poise like that, it will cost you games.”

The replacement officials were also a huge story and looked lost for most of the game.

“I don’t think anything needs to be said if you watched that game,”  Shanahan said on the officiating.

Robert Griffin III showed a lot more of his skill set throwing 20 of 29 for 206 yards with one touchdown and one interception.  He also ran for 82 yards on 11 carries and ran in two touchdowns.

“I don’t take losing well,”  Griffin III said.
