LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A three-day event in Maryland marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam.
The Antietam National Battlefield is holding special battlefield hikes, speakers, mobile exhibits, civil war music, children’s events and plenty of reenactments to commemorate the battle.
National Park Service Civil War to Civil Rights coordinator Cathy Beeler says the battle single-handedly changed the history of our nation. It was a turning point in the Civil War and the beginning of America’s civil rights movement.
Admission to the events is $4 per person or $6 per family.
More information can be found on the National Park Service website.
