WASHINGTON (AP)- Crews are making progress in restoring power to those affected by severe storms that blew through the mid-Atlantic region.
Shortly after noon Sunday, Dominion Virginia Power reported more than 5,800 outages in northern Virginia.
Pepco reported that just over 3,000 customers remained without power, the majority of them in Prince George’s County.
In central Maryland, Baltimore Gas & Electric still had about 900 customers without power early Sunday afternoon, with the majority in Anne Arundel County.
The storms Saturday afternoon brought winds near 70 mph and knocked out electricity to as many as 192,000 homes and businesses served by the three utilities.
