PALMER PARK, Md. — Prince George’s County police say they’ve arrested a man in the killing of a woman whose body was found in a creek last month.
Thirty-one-year-old Joseph Foster Jones of Capitol Heights was taken into custody on Friday.
He’s accused in the death of 22-year-old Shavon Phillips, whose decomposed remains were found Aug. 1 in a bag in a Fort Washington creek. The death was ruled a homicide two weeks later.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Jones had a lawyer.
Police expect to release more details about the case at a news conference at police headquarters Friday evening.
