BALTIMORE, Md. (CBSDC) - The Baltimore Orioles unveiled their final of six statues at Camden Yards Wednesday, all constructed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Oriole Park.

The final statue of six revealed throughout the summer is of the likeness of Orioles great Cal Ripken, Jr.

Cal Ripken Jr.’s statue is the sixth of six statues revealed to fans in pregame celebrations held throughout the summer months, honoring some of the team’s greatest players as well as the 20th season in the park.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened on April 6, 1992 when the team hosted the Cleveland Indians.

One of the park’s greatest memories is owed to Ripken when on Sept. 6, 1995 when he surpassed Lou Gehrig’s 56-year-old record of 2,130 consecutive games played, dubbing him the new “Iron Man” of baseball.

Other Orioles greats honored with statues this summer are Eddie Murray, Jim Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson and Earl Weaver.
