WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - A man who was viciously assaulted near his home in Capitol Hill last month is showing signs of improvement after recovering from brain surgery.
Authorities say Thomas Maslin, 29, has been upgraded from serious to fair condition at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Maslin was attacked after leaving Tune Inn bar on Pennsylvania Ave. on Aug. 18. He was found unconscious the next morning on the front steps of a North Carolina Ave. home. He had been savagely beaten causing doctors to perform multiple brain surgeries.
The husband and father slipped into a coma after one of the operations but has since shown signs of recovery.
