LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A 17-year-old student from Northwestern High School was stabbed by another student near the school’s campus Wednesday afternoon.

The stabbing took place at an apartment complex in the 6700 block of Belcrest Road in Hyatsville, Md. around 3 p.m.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Multiple people were apprehended by Prince George’s County Police and are being interviewed.

Prince George’s County Public Schools spokesperson Bryant Coleman says the lockdown placed on the school following the incident has been lifted.

A motive for the stabbing was not immediately clear.
