ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC) - Dominion has restored power to over 3,000 customers this afternoon after service was disrupted by a hungry squirrel.
Crews have restored power to nearly 3,100 customers in North Arlington after a squirrel chewed through some wiring Wednesday morning. ArlNow reported there was an issue with the substation post-teeth marks affecting neighborhoods surrounding Lee Highway and Glebe Road.
A spokeswoman for Dominion says the squirrel worked its way into the substation equipment on N. Culpeper Street and caused a transformer to go out.
Police were called to control traffic when traffic lights lost power along Lee Highway in Arlington.
