TAKOMA PARK, Md. (CBSDC) - A hospital in Montgomery County is lobbying to change locations but is receiving a lot of friction from the state.
Washington Adventist Hospital would like to move from its current home in Takoma Park to a new facility in Silver Spring, but one or more member of the Maryland Health Care Commission is saying no way.
Barbara McLean told the Washington Post the hospital failed to show the project would be financially feasible.
Officials would like to relocate the hospital to the White Oak area of Silver Spring, where they would construct a $389 million replacement venue, according to the Associated Press. There is no room left for further expansion at its current location, hospital officials say.
The Maryland Health Care Commission will meet to make a decision on Oct. 18.
