WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - A second man in less than a month was robbed and beaten late night in Capitol Hill.
Police say an unidentified man was robbed and beaten in the 300 block of North Carolina Ave. SE around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The victim was approached by two black males, one carrying a handgun, who demanded his personal property, according to police.
The suspects then knocked the victim to the ground and physically assaulted him. He suffered minor injuries. They are described as black males, in their 20s, with short dark hair, standing at 5′ 4″ tall and weighing about 150 pounds.
Thomas Maslin, 29, was attacked after leaving a bar on Pennsylvania Avenue in August. He was found unconscious the next morning on the front steps of a North Carolina Ave. home and is still hospitalized. He slipped into a coma after undergoing brain surgery, but his condition has since been upgraded from serious to fair.
Police acknowledged the two attacks were in the same area and are both still under investigation, but have not been linked.
