Lim’s body was found dead at the scene after an apparent robbery attempt. Lim’s son, Peter Lim, said she opened the store the same way every morning for eight years, by pulling the front door open halfway. He believes someone must have followed her in.
June was a well-respected member of the community. The Asian Pacific American Bar Association set up a memorial fundraiser online, asking the community for donations to show how much they cared for June.
The memorial fund raised $3,595 in a matter of days.
