ANNAPOLIS, Md. (CBSDC) - All lanes of the Bay Bridge have reopened after a safety concern ordered inspectors to shut down the westbound portion through the morning commute.
The westbound span of the Bay Bridge was closed until around noon Tuesday while inspectors made repairs.
The Bay Bridge traffic flow was being alternated in 20-minute intervals while repair crews inspected what overnight workers called an “unusual and slight vertical movement of the bridge” shortly after midnight.
Both lanes on the eastbound side of the bridge were open to traffic heading in both directions for much of the morning drive time, but alternated from being open to eastbound traffic for twenty minutes, then westbound traffic for twenty minutes.
To get information about traffic conditions on the bridge you can call 1-877-229-7726.
