LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas congressman Tim Griffin is rallying fellow Republicans and accusing President Barack Obama of having a “bankrupt vision and a failed plan.”
Griffin addressed delegates at the party’s national convention on Tuesday in Tampa, Fla., and urged fellow Republicans to support Mitt Romney’s White House bid.
Griffin said the president has “no earthly idea” how to solve the country’s problems such as unemployment and debt. He praised Romney and running mate Paul Ryan’s leadership.
Griffin is a freshman congressman representing the 2nd district in central Arkansas. He faces a challenge from Little Rock lawyer Herb Rule, a Democrat, in the November election.
Griffin chairs Romney’s Arkansas campaign. He was one of the first top Republicans in the state to back the former Massachusetts governor’s presidential bid.
