BELTSVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) — Thousands turned out to pay their respects to the 23-year-old Prince George’s County police officer who died when his cruiser crashed while pursuing a suspect on I-95.
Officer Adrian Morris’ colleagues remember him as being dedicated to the force he always wanted to serve.
United States Park Police Chief Teresa Chambers vowed to honor and take of officer Adrian Morris’ family for a lifetime at the ceremony.
“He’s like family,” said retired officer Dan Morris. “Anybody who joins this agency is like family.”

Morris did not know the fallen officer, but felt it important to pay his respects.
A funeral for the fallen officer is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Woodstream Church on Lottsford Road in Mitchelville, Md. Traffic delays are possible.
