BELTSVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) - In the week since a Prince George’s County police officer’s death on I-95, both of the suspects wanted in connection with the death have been arrested and charged, and now Adrian Morris, 23, can finally be laid to rest.
Thousands are expected to attend the funeral proceedings for Morris which could make traffic delays a concern.
A viewing for Morris is scheduled for Monday at Borgwardt Funeral Home on Powder Mill Road in Beltsville, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Woodstream Church on Lottsford Road in Mitchellville. The burial follows at 1 p.m. in Davidsonville.
Police will have rolling street closures around the funeral procession.
Morris was killed Monday, Aug. 20 when his cruiser swerved off I-95 in high-speed pursuit of auto theft suspects, then he wrecked into a guard rail on an embankment.
Police arrested Kevon Darnell Neal, 23, and Kenneth Clark Mitchell, 25, last week after being identified by police as the two men officer Morris and his partner were chasing.
