Jason Cole from Yahoo! Sports joined 106.7 The Fan’s ‘Holden & Danny’ to discuss Chad Johnson’s release from the Miami Dolphins following a domestic abuse arrest and the debut’s of this years’ first two selections of the NFL draft, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III.

Cole is high on Andrew Luck and says he understands why the Indianapolis Colts took him number first overall.

“This kid is prepared as anyone has ever been to walk in as a rookie quarterback,” Cole said. “He showed in his first game why Indianapolis felt so comfortable taking him number one, low risk factor.”

As far as Robert Griffin III, Cole thinks he is primed for a good year but that doesn’t mean to expect the playoffs for the Redskins. In his opinion both quarterbacks are destined for greatness.

“I think he’s going to have a great rookie year,” Cole said. “(He has) got some stuff to learn about pro-style offenses but you couldn’t ask for a greater year for two rookie quarterbacks.”

Going around the NFL, there is no bigger story in the league right now than the the arrest and subsequent release of Chad Johnson by the Miami Dolphins.  Despite co-authoring his autobiography, Cole thinks new coach Joe Philbin acted inappropriately by releasing Johnson.

“When you are a rookie coach and you are setting a tone, when you have a first crisis, you have to respond strongly,” said Cole. “It was a no-brainer.”
