WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A woman suffered injuries to her left arm and leg after she was struck by a metro bus Washington Monday evening.

The bus struck the woman around 7 p.m. as it was turning left onto Jennifer Street according to Metro spokesperson Caroline Lucas.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The severity of her injuries was not immediately known.

Metro says the bus was not in service at the time of the accident. The driver was in the process of returning the vehicle to the garage.

The age of the victim was not immediately known.
