Beer Week And Restaurant Week Choose Similar Schedules In D.C.
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – This week is cause for a celebration of food and drink in the nation’s capitals with Restaurant Week and Beer Week falling on nearly the same schedule.
It’s no surprise beer drinkers decided to get a day’s head start. D.C. Beer Week kicked off Sunday, August 12 and runs through Saturday, August 18, while Restaurant Week starts in the District Monday and runs through Sunday, August 19.
The 4th Annual D.C. Beer Week set sail with the Craft Beer & Dinner Cruise on Sunday, an evening-long, unlimited craft beer tasting on the ‘booze cruiser’, “The Odyssey”.
Beer Week was started by local beer distributors Jeff Wells and Teddy Folkman in 2008. Their mission: to create an event that celebrated the growing D.C. beer community of local distributors, restaurants and bars and brewers. Since the first year of the celebration, the nation’s capital has grown to feature more than 180 separate events during the week long festival.
The full list of Beer Week events can be found here.
Restaurant Week Metro D.C. offers a seemingly endless list of participating restaurants with lunch specials for the week of $20.12 and dinner specials of $35.12. For the full list of featured restaurants, click here.
