Man Stabbed Preventing Suspect From Breaking Into His Car In Arlington
ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC) — A man was stabbed after getting into an altercation with a person who was breaking into his car in Arlington.
The victim was working in a nearby office building when he spotted the suspect attempting to break into his vehicle around 1:30 p.m. He went outside to confront the man and chased him across the street and into the parking lot of the Pio Pio restaurant at 3300 Wilson Blvd.
The two men began fighting and wrestling on the ground. At some point during the struggle, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in a number of locations.
Witnesses said the victim was bleeding profusely from his back.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is in stable condition. Police say they believe the man may survive.
The suspect was able to evade capture despite a police perimeter being established and a K-9 unit being used.
Police believe the man may have stolen a work van in order to make his escape.
The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male, roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark blue jeans at the time of the incident.
The victim is a 31-year-old man from Montgomery County.
