The Redskins held their final full practice before they fly to Buffalo tomorrow to play the Bills on Thursday in their first preseason game of the season. This afternoon’s practice was closed to the public, but the friends and family of the Redskins were able to attend and then enjoy themselves with some blow up slides and barbeque.
“I’m not sure which one of those slides I’m going to go down, but I’m going to pick one so they can laugh at me, but we’ll have a good time,” Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan said.
Shanahan also ruled some players out for the Buffalo game. Tim Hightower (recovering from ACL surgery) is out and they hope he can play by the third preseason game. Jammal Brown (hip), Anthony Armstrong (shoulder), Darrel Young (hamstring) and Kory Lichtensteiger (knee) are also out. Chris Chester is a “long-shot” to play and Josh Morgan is hopeful to play.
Graham Gano will start at kicker and they will rotate throughout the game, Evan Royster will be the starting running back for the Redskins. Shanahan gave Chris Cooley a day off today, no injury, and will play.
