ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — Two days after he was taken into custody for a probation violation, Arlington County Police charged James Sylvester Caroline in the killing of Arlington jewelry store owner Tommy Wong.
Police say Caroline of Washington was charged Friday with murder in the death of the 52-year-old Wong last week. Wong was found dead inside the store after family members called police because he hadn’t returned home.
Authorities are exploring the possibility Wong’s murder was connected to the robbery of a Benson’s Jewelers that occurred in the District on June 9.
Police say Caroline is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.
