BALTIMORE (AP) — Cal Ripken is preparing to speak out about his mother’s kidnapping last week.
The Hall of Fame infielder has scheduled a news conference for Friday morning in Baltimore, when he’s expected to provide an update on the investigation and make a statement.
Ripken’s 74-year-old mother, Vi, told police she was kidnapped at gunpoint last week, blindfolded and driven around. She was found unharmed in her car the following day.
Aberdeen police have released a sketch and video of the suspect, but have provided few details.
The news conference will be held at the B&O Warehouse at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Ripken’s home stadium for years with the Baltimore Orioles.
