HERNDON, Va. (CBSDC) - Police are still trying to determine who struck a woman in a Herndon parking lot overnight then left her to die.
The victim, who was struck, was found dead at the scene by medic units. A spokesman for the Herndon Police Department says officers were called to the 600 block of Center Street where a woman’s body was found in a parking lot shortly after midnight.
Police say several other vehicles were hit on Center Street by a car found a short distance from where the woman’s body was discovered. The suspect’s car was a black Toyota that was towed away by police.
Police are still working to confirm that the Toyota is the car that struck and killed the woman.
So far the victim has not been identified.
Center Street has been reopened near the crime scene now that investigators have finished processing evidence.
Police are asking anyone who has information regarding this incident to call the Herndon Police Department at (703) 435-6846.
