ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins started their second day of training camp today with a walk-through in their newly-fashioned practice bubble this morning. Jammal Brown, once again, was the only player not to participate.
In contrast, second-year wide receiver Leonard Hankerson was participating. It was only cleared last Friday after tearing his labrum in his right hip last season.
Hankerson admitted the hip was not yet 100 percent.
In similar fashion, Kory Lichtensteiger was back on the field after tearing his ACL last season.
“I got to knock some dust off,” Lichtensteiger said Friday morning. “But I feel like my old self out there. I feel like I haven’t lost a step anywhere.”
Lichtensteiger also said he lost probably about 20 pounds after he had the surgery last season since he couldn’t do anything for six weeks.
Penn State alum and Redskins second year running back Evan Royster talked briefly about his thoughts on the penalties that were given to PSU.
“You want to see your alma mater do well,” Royster said. “I’m praying for those guys and I hope they come out of this and do well.”
The Redskins will hold their second training camp practice of the season today at 3pm in front of a full crowd.
