WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Elijah Wallace was arrested in connection with two sexual assaults that occurred within one hour of each other Wednesday morning in the District.

The first assault occurred around 7:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Rhode Island Ave., NE. A woman reported she was walking in the area when an unknown man groped her.

Less than an hour later at 8:30 a.m. police were called to the 600 block of H Street, NE where a second woman reported a similar incident.

The locations were a little more than two miles apart.

Authorities say the 71-year-old Wallace, of Northwest, was responsible for both incidents. He has been charged with misdemeanor sexual abuse.
