ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) — Veterans reported to Ashburn today with the Washington Redskins officially opening training camp on Thursday.

Robert Griffin III addressed a large crush of media on the eve of his first training camp. He was the only Redskins player to speak on Wednesday.

Griffin spoke to the media for approximately 26 minutes and already acted like a seasoned veteran, even pausing at the outdoor podium as airplanes flew over Redskins Park. Any other rookie would likely have pushed through; their words drown out by jet engines.

“The fans are definitely starved for success but I think the players in that locker room are starved for success too,”  Griffin said.

Griffin III also added, “You’re only unproven if you think you’re unproven” and “I don’t set individual goals.”
