Prince George’s Apartment Building Fire Displaces Dozens

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (CBSDC) — Prince George’s County fire officials say dozens of residents have been displaced after a fire at a District Heights apartment building.

Officials say the fire broke out in a three-story building located in the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue at about 7:45 Tuesday night. About 75 firefighters battled the three-alarm fire for nearly an hour before extinguishing it.

No serious injuries were reported.

About 30 residents were displaced, according to officials. A temporary shelter was opened at Central High School.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
