BERWYN HEIGHTS, Md. (CBSDC) — Police arrested Andrew Heinz Kugler on Monday, charging him with the murder of Amber Danielle Schinault.
Schinault was found dead Sunday afternoon around 3:30 in the 8600 block of 57th Ave. in Berwyn Heights. When police arrived at the location to conduct a welfare check, the found the woman deceased with lacerations on her neck.
Police developed Kugler as a suspect in the case and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Officers spotted him in College Park where he attempted to take his own life by cutting his wrist prior to being taken into custody. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say Kugler and Schinault knew each other.
The 35-year-old, who resided in the 4000 block of Hillwood Court in Beltsville, was charged with second degree murder and is being held without bond.
