ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A spokeswoman for Gov. Martin O’Malley says a draft of legislation to expand gambling in Maryland will not be available this week.

Raquel Guillory said in an email Friday that it’s unclear when the proposal will be available for lawmakers to review. She says the administration is aiming to make the draft available next week.

O’Malley told reporters Wednesday after meeting with Baltimore city lawmakers that he hoped to have a draft available on Friday.

The governor wants to hold a special session this summer to allow table games as well as a casino in Prince George’s County.

The proposal would require voter approval in November. That means lawmakers have until Aug. 20 to pass legislation.
