Severe Thunder Storm Watch In Effect For D.C. Area Until 9 P.M., Ground Stop At Three Major Airports

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - A severe thunder storm watch is in effect for the D.C. Metro area until 9 p.m. with threats of damaging winds and hail. A Heat Advisory is also in effect until 9 p.m. Heat Indexes could reach 105-109 degrees.

Thursday and Friday temperatures are expected to decrease but heavy to severe thunder storms are still a possibility.

A ground stop has been put into effect by the FAA for BWI, Dulles and Reagan National airports due to the threat of severe weather. All planes are grounded until further notice.
