ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC) - An elderly woman is in critical condition after being hit by an Arlington Yellow Cab this morning.
The accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Glebe Road and North Carlin Springs Road across from Ballston Common Mall in Ballston.
Reports suggest the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident and the injuries are thought to be life-threatening in nature.
A local resident told ARLnow that the pedestrian was an elderly woman who lived in The Carlin retirement home just a block away from the scene of the accident.
Street closing included all Southbound lanes of Glebe Road at Wilson Boulevard and Carlin Springs Road at N. Thomas Street.
Police are reopening Glebe Road and Carling Springs Road.
