GREAT FALLS, Va. (CBSDC) — One person was killed Tuesday evening when a large tree unexpectedly fell on their vehicle on Georgetown Pike just west of Walker Road.
The large tree crushed the vehicle, killing the driver Fairfax County Police confirmed.
Georgetown Pike was closed in both directions due to the accident. A crane was needed to lift the tree off the vehicle due to its massive size.
The driver’s identity was not immediately available.
It is unclear what caused the tree to topple at this point.
