LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (CBSDC) — Prince George’s County Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for the shooting of a cab driver in Landover Hills on Tuesday.

The cab driver picked up the suspect from the New Carrollton Metro station around 2 p.m. and drove him to Cooper Lane Elementary School. Once they arrived, the suspect instructed the driver to drive to the rear of the school. The cab driver refused at which point the suspect pulled a handgun and demanded money from the victim.

During a brief struggle the suspect shot the cab driver in the leg. He then fled the scene on foot without any money.

The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a dark-complected black male roughly 5 feet 10 inches in height and 170 pounds. He had short hair and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow design on the front as well as khaki cargo shorts.
