UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (CBSDC) – A serious crash involving a tow truck and a minivan injured three children and three adults Thursday afternoon in Upper Marlboro.
The crash occurred just after 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Rosaryville Road and Woodyard Road.
Authorities say the tow truck was traveling eastbound on Woodyard Rd. when it came upon a stopped car near the merge with Rosaryville Rd. The truck driver swerved to avoid the vehicle, but struck a minivan that was headed in the opposite direction.
The tow truck driver as well as the the mother, father and three children in the minivan were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Each of the children hurt in the crash were under the age of 10 according to officials.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash. It was not immediately clear whether speed was a factor in the crash.
