WASHINGTON (AP) — A District of Columbia public relations executive charged with making straw contributions to candidates for federal and local offices, including Mayor Vincent Gray, is due in court.

Eugenia Clarke Harris, known as Jeanne, faces a Tuesday afternoon plea hearing in U.S. District Court in Washington.

Harris was charged Monday in a criminal information. That’s a charging document that can only be filed with a defendant’s consent and typically indicates a defendant intends to plead guilty.

The charges come less than two months after two former Gray campaign aides pleaded guilty in connection with straw donations to another mayoral candidate, Sulaimon Brown.

Federal authorities have been investigating Gray’s 2010 mayoral campaign since shortly after he took office last year.

Gray has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
