RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Less than 30,000 utility customers remain without power in Virginia, one week and a day after violent storms swept the state.
Appalachian Power reported less than 29,000 without power on Saturday. Most of the remaining outages are in the cities of Roanoke and Lynchburg and Amherst County. Virginia Dominion Power reports less than 1,000 without power.
At its peak, more than 1.2 million power customers were without power in Virginia. Thirteen deaths have been blamed on the storms.
