CHICAGO (AP) — The Republican challenging Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. says there’s an “air of mystery” surrounding the congressman’s medical condition and Jackson owes the public more information.
Professor Brian Woodworth is one of two candidates challenging Jackson in November for the Chicago area district. Woodworth says Jackson should tell people where he is and what his exact medical condition is.
Jackson has been on medical leave for exhaustion. His office announced Thursday that the Chicago Democrat’s condition is worse than initially thought and he’ll require further medical treatment. Few details have been released.
His condition has even baffled his congressional colleagues.
Democratic Congressman Mike Quigley says he and others noticed Jackson was missing from the House floor two weeks ago, but they don’t know where he is or how he’s doing.
