The Washington Capitals announced today that they have re-signed center Jay Beagle to a three-year, 2.7 million dollar contract.
Beagle, 26, has played in 82 regular season NHL games in parts of four seasons and has accumulated seven goals and three assists. Last season, Beagle’s first full-time season with the Caps, he had four goals and one assist in 41 regular season games. In 12 postseason games last season, Beagle had one goal and one assist.
Beagle, who is known for his penalty killing and faceoffs, was second on the team in face-off percentage at 57.7% last season. He is expected to play on either the third or fourth lines for the Caps in their upcoming campaign.
