WASHINGTON (AP) — The District of Columbia government has declared a state of emergency in the city following powerful storms and hot temperatures.
The state of emergency was declared Saturday and is in effect for 15 days. The state of emergency authorizes city officials to apply for financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other disaster relief and recovery organizations.
