BETHESDA, Md. (CBSDC) – A volunteer at the AT&T National golf tournament at Congressional Country Club was severely injured in a golf cart accident Friday morning.
The man was driving the cart near tee box at the No. 7 around 8 a.m. when he struck a nylon rope that separating the spectators from the course.
His arteries were cut on both sides of his neck causing him to bleed profusely according to a report by the Washington Post.
A make-shift tourniquet was fashioned by medical personnel on the scene, which included a doctor from George Washington Hospital.
He was taken to a local hospital for what are being described as life-threatening injuries.
